Hunger Games: Mockingjay part 1, ensi viikolla!
Nämä elokuvat eivät ole millään muotoa mitään klassikoita, mutta minua ne viihdyttävät. Yksi asia ylitse muiden ajaa silti minua leffateatteriin: Jennifer Lawrence. Fanien ei tarvitse pettyä tälläkään kertaa:
everyone’s favourite actress Jennifer Lawrence is on fire, to use the franchise's metaphorical image. Able to handle the mental damage, pulling us in and conveying many emotions all at once, not only do we continue to empathise with her but we embark on a more dangerous journey with her. Lawrence endures the trials and tribulations, taking them into her flesh and using that to propel Katniss into a determined fighter. She is delicate yet passionate, fiery yet pained and all the while, continues to showcase humanity and disaster, making her a heroine we can instantly recognise and travel with.
Once again Jennifer Lawrence captivates. Every flinch of fear, revulsion and guilt delivered with subtlety and projected on that familiar face – contemporary Artemis with bow, strength and grace. Though Katniss Everdeen may not quite qualify as feminist icon she is unquestionably a refreshing and empowering example for audiences coming of age in a superhero-heavy world. Take note, Hollywood.
The real star of it all is Lawrence, though. Mockingjay illuminates the tortured soul of its heroine more clearly than before, and this gives Lawrence the scope to invest Katniss with a haunted anguish to accompany her intense conviction. She's magnetic from first frame to last, giving her most complete big-screen performance in a career already full of blisteringly charismatic turns.
Part 1 holds up, mostly, with Jennifer Lawrence doing some proper heavy lifting.
Jennifer Lawrence has really grown into the [role] of Katniss, and has seen it develop for determined teen to a young woman having to face up to political machinations, the horror of war and the truth behind her affections. She is the charismatic presence that holds this rather flailing film together, and it is through her eyes that the true horror of President Snow’s rule is revealed.
Jennifer Lawrence continues to be stunning as Katniss, a hero who is at once iconic and deeply human.
